Sea4Us is proud to have been invited to participate in the RTP’s program Sociedade Civil, in the episode dedicated to “Fighting Pain.” This feature highlights our work in developing a first-in-class, non-opioid small molecule analgesic aimed at treating moderate to severe chronic and acute pain effectively and safely.
In the interview, Dr. Pedro Lima, our Founder and Executive and Scientific Director, shared insights into Sea4Us’ unique approach. Drawing from over a decade of research at the intersection of marine biology, neurophysiology, and drug discovery, the company has successfully transformed novel chemical entities inspired by marine biodiversity into fully synthetic pharmaceutical assets. Our lead candidate, S072, recently entered Phase 1a clinical trials, marking a critical milestone in our journey toward delivering new hope for patients worldwide.
Unlike traditional opioids, S072 provides potent pain relief without the safety concerns and side effects commonly associated with current treatments. Its innovative mechanism targets specific ion channels involved in neuronal hyperexcitability, addressing a root cause of pain with precision.
We invite you to watch the full episode of Sociedade Civil to learn more about how Sea4Us is advancing cutting-edge science to meet urgent clinical needs, offering a promising alternative to opioids and other analgesics.
