Goals, Activities, and Results

Sea4Us plans to hire an experienced researcher in the field of Neuroscience, with a high level of knowledge in neuronal cultures, Alzheimer’s research, neurodegeneration, real-time cell imaging, calcium records, electrophysiology, and molecular biology techniques.

The hiring of the HR foreseen in the application has the general objective of boosting its Drug Discovery and Development Platform, an advance that must be carried out based on two objectives:

• Increased innovation and profitability of the existing platform, through the introduction of an in vitro medium-throughput drug screening system, with the purpose of scaling up the discovery of therapeutic compounds of marine origin for pathologies mediated by ion channels (Sea4Us’ main R&D area);
• Opening of a new line of R&D and the respective business model, through the development of tests to discover therapeutic compounds targeting Alzheimer’s disease, a new therapeutic area within Sea4Us, which will greatly enhance the use of its vast compound library.
